Earth Remarks | Brick color range: 2.5YR 5/6 (red), 2.5YR 6/6 (light red), 5YR 5/6 (yellowish red), 7.5YR 7/2 (pinkish grey), 10YR 8/2 (white); collapsed, burned & unburned mudbrick superstructure & tumbled stones from walls; heavy concentrations of roofing plaster in center & piled in E portion where crashed against Wall 32; some pleces showed roof beam impressions; some mudbricks preserved intact 40 x 60 x 13 cm including one portion horizontally stacked 7 bricks deep (on its side) at Loca 7; some stones badly calcinated with roof plaster & sherds stick to them, others shattered by heat; this is the layer containing in its lower levels heavy concentrations of smashed pithoi--especially in L 7, 13, 19, 15, 21, & 16; much lesser concentrations of pottery in N; includes vessels smashed on compacted layer above room surface & those fallen from roof above; burn layers at the bottom of the locus |
