| Description | Locus 5 is a medium to darkish brown, claylike, somewhat compacted, included with many roots and small stones. Both the initial and closing surfaces of Locus 5 sloped gently downward from north to south. Four stumps from 30-100cm in diameter present at surface level. Terra cotta, pottery, and slag were uncovered. The soil pack was relatively shallow--one to twenty centimeters deep. Locus 5 is equivalent to Locus 2 in the original portion of T-87. |
