Description Locus 7 is a brown, claylike soil. Its Munsell designation is 7.5YR 4/2 brown. A twenty centimeter wide feature consisting of terra cotta fragments and stones ten to twenty centimeters in length runs roughly north to south the entire length of the eastern edge of the locus. A few large roots are included in Locus 7. Well-preserved terra cotta, pottery, bone, vitrified terra cotta, and slag found. In addition, well-preserved bronze, iron, worked antler, and nonnative stone recovered. The soil pack was relatively shallow--between zero and ten centimeters deep.
