Comments (Features) | The structure is rectangular in shape. S2 is rectangular in shape and oriented East-West (determined from door position). Like S1 (DU 3014), the walls are comprised of interior and exterior rows of large cobblestones (though some boulders have also been noticed), filled in with smaller cobbles and stone rubble. Stone scatter from these walls is most pronounced on the South edge and on the interior of the Northeast corner; scatter was also noticed on the exterior of the structure's northern edge. S2 is dry-constructed (i.e., no mortar used). Eight courses of stone can be ascertained at the structure's North wall. There is possibly a door (ca. 55 cm. wide) in the southern third of the East-Southeast wall; the centerpoint of the door is 11.30 cm distant at an orientation of 242 degrees from BM 3-1. Northwest corner is 14.84 m. distant at an orientation of 257 degrees from BM 3-1. Northeast corner is 13.48 m. distant at an orientation of 263 degrees from BM 3-1. Southeast corner is 9.24 m. distant at an orientation of 255 degrees from BM 3-1. Southwest corner is 11.91 m. distant at an orientation of 235 degrees from BM 3-1. North wall: 45 cm. min thickness; 51 cm. max thickness; 48 cm. average thickness. East wall: 80 cm. min thickness; 86 cm. max thickness; 83 cm. average thickness. South wall: 57 cm. min thickness; 59 cm. max thickness; 58 cm. average thickness. West wall: 60 cm. min thickness; 88 cm. max thickness; 74 cm. average thickness. The structure is tallest at the North-Northeast wall (117 cm.). |
