Earth Remarks Top 2-3 cm poss interseasonal erosion debris in places; some ashy pockets; many cobble to small boulder-sized stones from wall tumble; some stones from Wall 11 showed signs of intense heating, with shattering; much burned & crumbled brick in S 2 m from fallen superstructures; large whole or partially preserved bricks E of Wall 11 with 4 vertical rows in E balk; charred wheat & barley in ashy pocket at Loca 29; bricks smaller & very crumbly W of Wall 11; pithos at Loca 27; W of Wall 11, extending N about 2 m from S balk, was also much mudbrick debris of somewhat smaller, very crumbly brick; E of Wall 11 destruction debris covered entire square; in broadroom, debris was separated also into L 30; removed pocket of carbonized seed in center; burned and toppled brick; layers of carbonized wood/ash - probably 3-4 layers separated by mudbrick detritis atop layer of broken pottery atop Pavement 36; very rubbly in parts, but compact detritis in other areas; carbonized seed in pithos base in 7K80 which trails off into this locus; Standing Stone 38 was exposed early in U89
