Description Locus 5 is the area directly below the locus 4 T-70 eastern extension. The soil is a lighter brown than that of locus 4 and is very loose and not compacted. It contains roots, many of which are associated with the tree in the locus' northeastern to northwestern corners), though it is not comprised of loamy matter. While materials were present within this locus (pottery, tile and bone), no dateable artefacts were found and the concentration of materials was relatively sparse (20 small pieces of terracotta not covering the surface of the base of the bowl used for measuring, 4 pieces of pottery - four impasto pieces with two rims and one piece of fine impasto body - as well as one piece of bone). None of these materials provided clear chronological data for this locus.
