Munsell Color 10YR 7-2: Light gray
Description The soil of locus 2 resembles galestra, it is grayish-yellow in color and much of the soil is composed of small flakes. Occasional carbon flecks exist. A large number of fairly small rocks, ranging in size from tennis balls to soccer balls, were also present in the soil, however they did not appear to be architectural. There was a marked increase in pottery in locus 2; a majority of the pottery found was impasto, while a sizeable amount was comprised of fine impasto. Locus 2 covered the span of the trench and was roughly 10 cm deep throughout the trench.
