The previously unexcavated "peninsula" of earth located in 77/M-O was taken down to 65 cm below the northern baulk. At this level, a tile pack was encountered; it runs into grids 76/M-O. Large amounts of tile, plaster, and ridgepole were found. Pithos and pottery was also found in abundance. (Tile in 77 was removed, but that in 76 was left in situ.)
This tile pack is roughly 50 cm above the tile fall present at the southeast building floor level, right outside our southern baulk, which was uncovered yesterday. Photographs were taken.
72-74/M-O was brought down to roughly 70 cm. 4 pieces of bronze were found in 74/N-O. One cassetta of tile and one of plaster were dumped. Large pieces of plaster are common in this area and in 76-77/M-O. One cassetta of tile and one plaster were also dumped from these meters. One latte box of pottery came from 76-77/M-O. Two latte boxes of pottery came from 72-74/M-O.
