72-76/M-O

Continuation of A. A. Carpino

July 21, 1988

A.M.

The grid system was established in the area of A. A. Carpino's 1987 trench.  Meters 72-76/M-O were cleared of brush and stones.  Excavated to 70 cm, these meters were backfilled to 50 cm below surface.  Work

began removing this backfill and washout.

P.M.

Backfill in 72-76/M-O was removed.  These meters now stand at 55-60 cm below surface.  Plastic on the southeast building floor level adjacent to the baulk at "P" was uncovered to determine floor level.  The "peninsula" of dirt in 77/M-O ( ) was taken down to 55 cm as well.

Two pieces of bronze were found scraping down the northern baulk.  One piece of ridgepole came from M/75 at 50 cm in the baulk.
