Work continued in trenches 2 A (east) and 2B. Trench 2A-west had been taken down to bedrock, cleaned, and left.
In trench 2A east a terracotta fragment with a human ear was found at a depth of 1.85 m., .70 m. from the the east side, and .95 m. from the original south end (find # 17). A piece of cornice was found at a depth of 1.80 m., in the south

west corner of the trench, in the new west wall.
A large section of campstool frieze, preserving the right side from cavetto molding to guilloche was found in the east trench at a depth of 1.65 m. from the east side of the trench (find # 18).
The lower right corner of the procession frieze was found in the east trench, at a depth of 1.86 m., .05 m. from the east side, and 1.40 m. from the south end of the trench. The piece, although small, was very well preserved (find #19).
A fragment of the banquet frieze, preserving some guilloche and a dog, was found at a depth of 1.12 m.,

cover tile
1.80 m. from the south end, and .25 m. from the new west wall (find #20).
A section of cover tile was found at a depth of 1.85 m., 2.0 m., from the south end of the trench, and .85 from the east side (find # 25).
A fragment of light colored (salmon pink) fine pottery with incised design was found at a depth of 1.85 m., about 1.80 m. from the south end of the trench, and .60 m. from the east side (see sherd box).
A fragment (lower right corner), well preserved, of campstool frieze was found at a depth of 1.80 m., 2.0 m. from the south end of the trench, and .87 m. from the east side (find #21).

Gorgon head fragment
A fragment of a gorgon head (plaque or antefix?) was found (2A east) at a depth of 1.75 m., 1.90 m. from the south end of the trench, and 1.70 m. from the east side (find # 23).
A fragment of lateral sima, cavetto molding, was found in the south end of the (east) trench, at a depth of about 1.80 m.
A small terra cotta head (see p 12, find #9) was found at a depth of 1.75 m., 2.0 m. from the south end of the trench, and 1.95 m. from the

Cover tile
east side (find # 24).
Another section of cover tile about .55m. long, was found at a depth of 1.78 m. in the new west wall, extending from 1.65 to 2.15 m. from the south end (find # 26).
In trench 2B work continued throughout the day, removing the topsoil and several stamps. A few scattered fragments, small and worn, were found up to a depth of about .40 m.
