Work continued in trenches 2 A east and 2 B.  In trench 2A bedrock appeard in the south end of a depth of 1.95 m. The rest of the topsoil and the remaining stumps were removed from trench 2B, and it was levelled, edges straightened, and cleaned at a depth of about .40 m. throughout.  Scattered finds of small worn fragments continued.

In trench 2 A (east) a small piece of bronze was found at a depth of 1.95 m., 1.48 m. from the east side, and .65 m. from the south wall (find #27).

Fragments of an impasto bowl, including a fairly complete base, were found

at a depth of 1.95 m., spread over an area about 1.40 m. from the east side of the trench, and .60 m. from the south end (find # 28).

A section of horse race frieze (right edge and bottom) was found (2A east) at a depth of 1.77 m., 2.60 m. from the north end of the trench, and .50 m. from the west side (old west, find # 29).

Fragments of a bronze ring (female) were found at a depth of 2.0 m., 1.60 m. from the south wall, and .75 m. from east side.

A large section of horse race frieze, in good condition, preserving all of the right side, from cornice to guilloche, was found in the east trench (2A) at a depth of 1.87 m., 2.64 m. from

the south end, and 1.15 m. from the east side (find # 31).

Another smaller section of horse race frieze was found at a depth of 1.65 m., 2.0 m. from the north end, and .30 m. from the (old) west side (find # 32).

Trench 2B was continued throughout the day, mostly still removing the top stratum of surface soil.  In the south-west corner yellow soil appeared at a depth of .40 m., but in the rest of the trench not until a greater depth would be reached.

A terra-cotta head, very worn and chipped, was found at a depth of .55 m., 1.95 m. from the east wall, and .55 m. from the south (find # 1).
