Mesti work continued in K-L-M/69-70 bringing the lvel to 130 cm bd. The soil remains the same with charcoal and plaster inclusions. Small bones were found frequently and many burned - these are included with the pottery from this area. Pottery was minimal, but included an Ionic bowl frag (#2). 2 pieces of pan tile which may preserve painted decoration were taken to the mag, bu not recorded as finds. Photos were taken of the area and susequently the higher prieces were removed as work coninued. A toatl amount removed will be recorded in the PM.
Cut begun yesterday in M-L/63-64 finished today bringing trench level to 115 cm bd. The soil remained unchanged from yesterday. One latter box of pottery was recovered and finds included: a painted oinochoe frag (#1), an orangeware lid frag (#3), a cut out akroterion frag (#4) and a painted sherd (#5). Various odd shaped pieces of terracotta also
taken to the mag. 1/2 cassette of plaster & tile frags found. The cut was also extended at the same level into the meter N/63. 1/2 latte of pottery found . The soil contained more charocal & more dcomposed plaster than meters K/L/M at the same level.
Continued mesti work in K-L-M/69-70. 1/4 latte box of pottery and ~1/2 cassette of tile were removed. Painted & incised wares found in these meters. 125-127 cm bd.
Cut was begun in M/63-64 where a soil change was encountered ~137 cm bd This new level is the same heavy burn plaster/tile layer encountered at higher cuts in meter N/63. A very large piece of worked bone was found in this cut.
