AM

We started the day by throwing  a pick in the eastern 1m x 4m extent of the trench, pulling the dirt south.

Opening Elevations:

NE: 25.05 m AE
NW: 24.97 m AE
SE: 23.89 m AE
SW: 24.52 m AE

We did this pick mainly for leveling the east. Half of a rocchetto was found in the south east corner of the pick. It has a flat, unstamped ends.

While clearing the dirt from the pick we found a high concentration of bone and abraded pottery along the southern strip of the pick at 74 S. We began defining the rocks in the middle of Locus 4 along the western baulk wall in order to see if our rocks are part of the possible rock feature in the south east of T-94. We are finding abraded pottery and some bone along the same axis, mentioned above, in the south of our pick. While defining rocks along the north western baulk of Locus 4, a piece of ridged pottery was found.

Also in the south east of the pick, we found a rocchetto. It has modern breaks and is concave on both ends.

While using handpicks to level the middle of Locus, a spindle whorl was found.

We took points of special finds then continued to clear the first pick and define the rocks along the western baulk. While defining rocks along the western baulk, the bronze pin to a fibula was found near the middle of the baulk.

We finished picking up the loose dirt from the initial pick. We may be coming down onto rocks om top of rocks along the middle to north of the western baulk. We started using a brush to sweep around the rocks for clarity. Before lunch, we did root clipping and light leveling. While leveling in the middle of Locus 4, a piece of pottery with slag adhered to it was found.

PM

We leveled the trench using hand picks and trowels, moving from south to north. We started 4m from the southern edge of the trench, which formerly marked the division between loci and still is not level. We have begun to take points on a diagnostic bone, as we have begun to find more, including a large fragment of bone potentially from a cow and a tooth.
