The giant stump in K/82 was picked around in an attempt to remove it.  Roots from the stump make depth readings difficult.  Initially cuts were made on the top and around the stump to about 40 cm, undercutting it.  The size of the stump, and the amount of dirt around it are great.

J/84-85 was cleaned further.  Tiles that were small and which didn't seem to be part of the continued tile fall were lifted.  Pottery and bone were fairly common.  Plaster is abundant in J/83, which may rest on top of tiles, if the stratigraphy here is similar to that abouve the fall in K-M/82-85.

Tiles were photographed and lifted in K-L/84.  Pottery and bone were found below.  A cover tile was lifted from L/83 also.

J/84 produced 2 1/2 latte boxes of pottery at the 95 cm level.  One half a cassetta of tile was found.  Fragmetns of a rocchetto come up here as well.

The stump produced 2 cassette of tile.  we worked in K/81 to flor level and around the stump to 40 cm.

Work continued arond the stump in K/82.  The earth around the stump was taken down to floor level on all sides and worked continued underneath the stump itself.  Several finds came out of this cut, including 3 slingstones.  The eastern side of the stump in K/83 remains at 40 cm below surface.  Creamware fragments came up from J/83 side of the stump.  Pottery filled two latte boxes.  Tile = 2 cassette plaster =1

J/84-83 was cleaned further.  Less than one latte box of pottery was found and 2 1/2 cassette of tile, and 2 of plaster.
