Lifting of the tile bed continued. A total of 23 boxes was produced,with concentration far heavier in the northern half. The level of tiles did not drop with the wall in the southern half.

1AB

Continued removing of topsoil. Stumps were taken out and removing of the second course started. 6 boxes of tiles and a few sherds. A piece cornice was found 90 cm facing E, 2.0 m facing S.

1AC

A new trench was laid out between 1Z and 1AA and parallel to these trenches, see diagram pg. 77 . Topsoil was

1 AC 1. Gorgon's hair

Taken off for about 1/3 of the trench. 2 boxes of tiles. A fragment of a Gorgon's hair was found. A few pieces of bone and some sherds were found when the second course was started in the NE corner of the trench where a continuation of the stone formation described on pg. 71 seemed to appear.
