The northern half was cleared down to 70-80 cm just below the second course of the wall where the tiles stopped and stony soil began. The southern half produced a return similar to the northwest one in 1G, but also found in the southern half from 80 cm on down was a heavy concentration of fragments of large pots which extended down through several soil layers (red, green, charred). Removing of the second layer was continued beginning in the N part of the trench where the level was taken down to 30 cm. Very few tiles (3 boxes). A pattern of irregular stones began to appear at 3.55 m facing S. A piece of banquet frieze was found one piece of bone, the same type described p. 71 but longer not split into sections. A piece of decorated
bucchero was also found in the same area together with several crumbling pieces of pottery.

The whole trench was taken down to the level where bedrock all over the trench except at the N end of the trench where a line of laid stones appeared possibly connected witht the formation described pg. 83 , but separated from it by bedrock.
