Continued excavating horizontally loci 11, 9 and 13. Soil in locus 11 was olive brown [ 2.5 Y, 5/3] in locus 9 was pale olive [ 5 Y, 6/3] and in locus 13 was dark grayish brown [2.5 Y, 4/2] with heavy carbon inclusions. At a depth of approximately 70 cm b.d. a dense packing of stones of medium size (5-20 cm) was uncovered and soil abruptly became light olive brown [2.5 Y, 5/3] in locus 13 area, indicating a bottom of the feature.

Carbon inclusions were much scarser in locus 11 soil. Material found in locus 11 included 17 bone fragments; 1 bucchero, 9 redware, 3 coarseware, and

25 impasto fragmetns, as well as 4 very worn tilepieces; 1/2 latte box total. Material from locus 13 constitiured 1/5 of latte box and included 15 small bone fragments; 9 red ware, 2 coarseware, and 20 impasto fragments, some molded, as well as a 2 cm tile fragment. A large piece of coarse impasto vessel including portion of rim was uncovered in S-W corner of N4 W 1 next to a stump.

Lifted rocks in N 4 W 2. Dark grayish soil with heavy carbon inclusions was found underneath, but 2-3 cm deeper olive brown soil was reached, with numerous rocks impacted.

Material found in dark grayish brown (locus 13) soil constituted 1/3 latte box and contained 6 bone fragments, 5 coarse ware fragments and 15 coarse impasto fragments. Also a large fragment of orange ware handle was uncovered. Locus 11 was excavated to the same level ( 75 cm b.d.) as locus 13. Material found included 18 bone fragments, 10 coarseware fragments,

3 red ware and 10 impasto fragments, as well as 9 fragments of undecorated bucchero and 1 fragment with moulded decoration, that came from locus 9 (possibly root pool).
