The remaining pottery was removed and a stone layer reached throughout the trench. Depth was

about 40 to 45 cm. Finds included pieces of frieze similar to 19660061
and 19660069 , a spindle whorl, two large sections of pithos rim, and a clay bead.Photo of trench.

Civitate B
The area across the road and south of Civitate A was designated Civitate B. The slope of the hill showed a heavy amount of surface tile as well as three or four pieces of cornice; in an attempt to find their source, five test trenches were dug.
