August 4, 1966

Removal of pottery (4 boxes) continued in the northern 3.5 meters.  Finds included a bronze rim, a left-edge piece of cornice and frieze identifiable as similar to 19660061

, and a thin section of tile with a cup-like curve, possibly a roof tile used for ventilation.  Stone definitely appeared in the southern three meters at depths of 25 to 35 cm, where digging was stopped for the day.  Thin pottery was again heavy but bucchero rare.  Cover tiles were abundant.
