Trench 2B was swept and photographed, and profiles and plans were drawn. Excavation in this trench is now finished.
Work continued in trench 2C. A fragment of horserace frieze was found in the south end at a depth of 0.50m, 0.60m from the south, and 0.10m from the east (no find number given).
A piece of thick, heavy terracotta (architectural or sculptural?) was found in the south end at a depth of 0.56m, 1.05m fom the south, and 0.75m from the west side (no find number given).

A piece of painted terracotta, similar to a larger piece found last year ("painted sima," 19660247
19660247; see T.G. Book # 1, p.41, # 9), but smaller, was found at a depth of 0.62m, 1.32m from the west side, and 1.34m from the south (Find # 2).
A rectangular piece of heavy terracotta was found at a depth of 0.62m, 0.25m from the west side, and 1.52m from the south (no find number).
A terracotta human head, fairly well-preserved, was found at the east edge of the trench, adjoining trench 2B, at a depth of 0.93m, 1.70m from the south (Find # 3).
