Work continued in trenches 2B and 2C. In trench 2C, the top stratum was still being excavated, with few surface finds.

In trench 2B work continued on the north side of the stone. A number of finds were made.

A piece of horserace frieze was found at a depth of 1.07m, 0.98m from the north side, and 1.02m from the west (Find # 15). Another piece of horserace frieze was found at a depth of 1.15m, 0.85m from the north, and 0.95m from the west (Find #14).

A piece of gorgon head antefix was found at a depth of 1.10m, 0.92m from the west wall, and 1.0m from

the north (Find # 16).

A section of "raking cornice" preserving the guilloche and most of two animals, was found at a depth of 0.95m, 1.25m from the west wall of the trench, and 1.20m from the north (Find # 17).

A large section of horserace frieze, the left side, from cornice to guilloche, was found at a depth of 1.0m, 1.10m from the north wall, and 1.57m from the east (Find # 18).

A fragment of a bronze attachment, with two nail holes preserved, was found in the stone "wall" during cleaning, at a depth of 0.84m, 1.35m from the south, and 2.46m from the east wall of the trench (Find # 19).

In the south end of trench 2C an unidentified terracotta object was found at a depth of 0.64m, 0.78m from the south wall, and 0.72m from the west (Find # 1). In this part of the trench also several architectural fragments were found, and a good bit of tile.

Trench 2B was taken down to 0.66m into the stratum of "galestra" in the south the stones in the center were cleaned, and the trench was taken down to bedrock in the north. Bedrock, sloping sharply down to the north, was found just below the stone in all but the east end of the trench. At the end of the day, the trench was
