Tools: pick axe, trowels, buckets, dustpan, saw, hand clippers, wheelbarrow

Soil: yellow7brown clumpy-crumbly, lots of terracotta

Passes: pick pass thorugh North 1/3 of trench

Since the terracotta tile spread thinned out moving North decided to pick thorugh North 1/3 of the trench unless a lot of terracotta turns up.  Cleaning the NE corner has revealed another small tile spread.  Worked on defining baulk walls.  Lots of terracotta pulled from the soil.  Some small rocks.  Bits of charcoal.

Passes: pick NW corner.define tile spread

Afternoon spent defining tile spreads in order to prepare them to be photgraphed and then removed.  Samll spread in NE corner defined shaowing two layers of tile in some spots.  Large deposit along South baulk in poor condition though also appreas to be in at least two layers.  Layer of tile spreads is Locus 4.
