STRATEGY: To remove 1518: clean up around stone/wall in the NE corner and clean the last of 1516 in the SE corner.

SUMMARY: Took off 1 x 7cm spit of 1518 (beneath 1516). This cleaned up around the stones in the NE corner, which have a northern straight side (see sketch), suggesting a wall or a pavement. The stones are fist sized and not very substantial. There appears to be only one layer. Further excavation should reveal this. There are large plaster areas in the SE and SW corners to be excavated tomorrow to try and determine if they are anything. There are also a few stones in the NW corner and it is tempting to see a right angle with the structure in the NE corner, but more excavation is required. Finds include pot, bone, flint and a perforated pot disc.
