Made a shallow pick-pass in the extension. We trimmed baulk walls in the original trench and cleared soil around the tree stump and larger rocks. Made a second pick-oass in the extension. We declared Locus 3 here due to thinner, light brown soil. We took elevations for the new locus, which are also closing elevations for the extension today.
Closing elevations / Opening elevations- Locus 3 (extension):
- NW corner: 117.5 cm b.d.
- SW corner: 112.0 cm b.d.
- SE corner: 114.0 cm b.d.
Closing elevations (main):
- NW corner: 136.0 cm b.d.
- SE corner: 133.0 cm b.d.
- NE corner: 132.5 cm b.d.
- SW corner: 140.0 cm b.d.
Locus 4: 1/2 cassetta bulk terracotta; 16 pieces pottery; 4 pieces bone.
Locus 2: 1/4 cassetta bulk terracotta; 5 pieces pottery.
