Excavation continued in locus 14. Approximately 1/2 bowl of terracotta fragments recovered and approximately 1/5 latte box of pottery sherds found. One special find was made, an impasto rim sherd.
Balk trimming was done on all sides of the trench west of the stone feature. Approximately 1 bowl of terracotta fragments recovered and approximately 1/5 latte box of pottery sherds found.
During the excavation of locus 14 and the balk trimming it was noticed that darker soil containing carbon bits was turning up in the SW corner of the trench. After the balk trimming was finished the extent of this darker patch of soil was determined and made locus 15. Photographs were taken and the excavation of this locus was initiated. Only one small pottery sherd found and no terracotta fragments recovered today in this locus.
Munsell for locus 15: hue 10 YR 3/6 dark yellowish brown.
Opening depths of locus 15:
NE corner: 25 cm. above datum point
NW corner: 25 cm.
SW corner: 25 cm.
SE corner: 25 cm.
