Photos taken.

Finished leveling the area in Y-Z/16-17 to 200 cm b.d.  This work produced 2/3 of a latte box of pottery and bone and 1/5 cassetta of tile and plaster.  A new cut was then begun in this area to lower it to 220 cm.  The rocks in this area were widespread and will be removed as we excavate.  The portion of Y-17 and into Y-16 were consistently yellowish brown soil but beyond that, to the west, the soil was medium brown with some plaster and carbon.  This morning's work in this cut produced 2 1/2 latte boxes of pottery and bone, and 1/4 cassetta of tile and plaster.

Finished defining the rocks in alpha-beta/13-14, producing 3/4 latte box of pottery and bone and 20-30 small bits of plaster.  This area was sketched in order to record the position of the stones and the areas of different soil types.

Finished cut on Y-Z/16-17, lowering the area to roughly 220 cm b.d.  The soil was medium brown with carbon and plaster inclusions.  This work produced 4 3/4 latte boxes of pottery and bone and 3/4 of a cassetta of tile and plaster fragments.  ALL finds came from this area:  painted bone (#3), bronze (#4), cut bone (#5).

Trimmed baulk in alpha/13 producing 3/4 of a latte box of pottery and bone, a bit of vitreous material with bronze, and 1/6 cassetta of plaster and tile.
