Continued defining stones and leveling floor in alpha-beta/13-14. The soil was predominately dark brown with plaster and carbon inclusions. Areas of dark gray soil with carbon are appearing beneath this, and the soil in the north-east corner of alpha/14 is sitll yellowish brown. This work produced 1 latte box of pottery and 1/10 of a cassetta of small plaster and tile fragments.
Took a 10 cm cut in Y-Z/16 and about 20 cm of meter 17. The soil was medium brown with inclusions of plaster and carbon, with the exception of Y-Z/17 and the northeastern part of Y/16 in which the soil was yellowish brown. Upon completion of this cut, the meters were roughly at 190 cm b.d. A second cut was begun in these meters but only the Z meters were completed. The soil here was more yellowish brown and contained little material. The rest of this cut will be finished in the afternoon. This work produced 6 latte boxes of pottery and bone, a small bit of bronze, and 3/4 cassetta of plaster and tile fragments. A large fragment of bronze (#1) and a piece of painted pottery (#2) were recovered from this area.

Continued work in alpha-beta/13-14, with only a small portion of alpha/14 left to copmlete. The soil was consistent with this morning. This work produced 1/3 latte box of pottery and a small bit of bronze, as well as 15-20 small fragments of plaster.
Continued the 10 cm cut in Y-Z/16 from this morning, creating a floor level in this area of roughly 200 cm b.d. However, a number of rocks were uncovered and work was begun with trowels in order to define the stones and level the floor. The stones are scattered and have no apparent form. The soil in this cut was medium brown with some carbon, but little plaster. Yellow-brown soil is still apparent in Y-Z/17. This work produced 1 2/3 latte boxes of pottery and bone and 1/2 cassetta of tile and plaster.
