Scraping is done over the entirety of the trench in order to remove some of the soil and debris that has been deposited in the trench due too the rain on 24/07/2013. Baulkwalling is also done on the south wall of Locus 10 , which will remain despite the extension of CA-78, in order to determine the stratigraphy between the two trenches. A pick pass is done of Locus 10. Some pottery, terracotta, bone, and slage is found, but in much smaller quantaties than higher elevations of Locus 10. Some charcoal is also turning up. The yellowish soil is beginning to appear in the eastern part of Locus 10 as well as the slope in the western portion is becoming more apparent. Some scraping is done along the slope to define the soil change and a piece of vitrified terracotta (Special Find#1) is found. A fragment of iron (Special Find #2) is found essentially resting on the yellowish soil change layer, in the Locus 10 soil, but in contact with the yellow soil. Vitrified terracotta will now be bulk found for Locus 10. More scraping is done and a noticeably larger amount of vitrified terracotta is being found, in comparison to other areas of Locus 10 or other loci. It is being found near the southwest corner, along the southern baulkwall of Locus 10. A few associated fragments of iron (Special Find #3)
are also found. CA-78 is coming up on patches of grey soil, which are also coming up in Locus 10, in their northern area. The yellowish soil is also coming up further south in CA-78, indicating what may appear to be a depressed area in CA-78 and CA-82 between the two areas of yellow soil. While CA-78 determines soil changes, no further scraping will be done along the bottom of Locus 10. The northern extent of Locus 10 will be cut back to better expose the transition between the soil of Locus 9 and the soil of Locus 10. A piece of burnt bone (Special Find #4) is found.
