Initial start of work is postponed in order to allow the soil in the trench to dry. After a few hours, work is continued. Baulkwalling along the south baulk wall is done, as well as scraping on the north of Locus 10 , and cleaning of loose soil that was not able to be cleaned before the rain yesterday. Charcoal is still presnt in all locations. Some pottery, terracotta, bone, and slag is found. A composite rock with a regularly shaped hole through it (Special Find # 1) is found in the north \'wall\'of Locus 10.

Work continues on the north part of Locus 10 with trowels. A piece of ridged pottery (Special Find #2) is found. A large fragment of pottery with rim and body shape ( Special Find #3) is found. Trowling and limited hand picking is continued on the northern part of Locus 10. A small fragment of possible soapstone ( Special Find #4) is found. Trowling is done on the floor of Locus 10. The yellow soil is turning up all over the floor of Locus 10. There is  noticeably significant amount of charcoal that is turning up on

the surface of the yellow soil and in the Locus 10 soil immediately above it. Some samples are collected for possibl analysis.
