Continued to excavate Locus 3. North side and east side continue to be sterile. Near bottom of 5cm cut soil became more compact. Terracotta tiles. pottery fragments and stones continue to appear in SW corner. Locus 3 was closed in the relatively sterile region and above the majority of the trench in SW corner.
The pottery, stones and terracotta were left in situ in Locus 4 for photographs tomorrow.

- E272.49-272.66/S273.1-273.24 (grid coordinates recorded here were derived from original catalog card - source for this info on original catalog card is unknown; however, suspect coordinates were recorded on find tag.

- Black impasto bowl sherd with base.
- Finds #2 and #3 fit together.

Since the mound in the SE corner is to be left for photography, we layed out a new trench to the SW of the first, to pick up more of the tile and pottery.
We broke through the root layer with a pick axe and found a few pieces of terracotta.
