Pick pass done in northeast corner to find the extent of the new yellow soil type. Soil sorted and cleaned. In cleaning found piece of ridged pottery.

Soil still consistent with Locus 2 in northeast corner, so second pick pass done there. Soil sorted and cleaned. Soil consistent with Locus 2 . Area in the center of the trench where rock feature formerly located troweled down to trench level to see

extent of the yellow soil and Locus 2 . Slped around baulk walls also removed. Soil sorted and cleaned, material all collected as part of Locus 2 . Rocks 4-6cm appearing at trench level and being defined. Very little material coming up in central area.

Continued troweling down center area of the trench to trench level, leaving and defining rocks as they appear. Soil sorted and cleaned. Medium amounts of material found. No noticeable soil change, but will look tomorrow AM after troweling complete to define. Roots clipped over area of trench. Trench covered with plastic.
