Took closing photographs of locus 11 before evaluations the areas of the trench and deciding n new loci. Due to time, multiple loci are being declared at once. Locus 13 , 14 , 15 , 16 are being opened. Opening photographs, elevations, and coordinates were taken. Locus 13 is the grey soil in the eastern depression of the trench. It is light in color and crumbles easily. It is void of material, or at least appears so for the time being. It appears to be the same soil as that of locus 11 .

Locus 14 is the salient of grey soil in the northern area in the western half of the trench. It is the area described as the chalky while soil in page 135 . The soil of

locus 14 is analogous to the soil of both locus 11 and 13 . Loci 13 and 14 are being excavated with baulk hammers and trowels.

Locus 15 runs along part of the slope in the southeast of the trench. The soil is extremely baked out and is difficult to determine the color and texture of the locus. However, material is visible on the surface of the slope.

Locus 16 is the small patch of carbon included soil in the southwest of the trench. It is a dark soil that crumbles easily. It has many carbon inclusions as well as white and brown inclusions. It had yielded material although that amount remains at the absolute minimum.

While troweling the grey soil in locus 13 , a small amount of pottery has been found. The entirety of the grey soil was removed from both loci 13 and 14 and those areas were scraped down. Work continued in locus 16 with a trowel without anymore material recovered. All the carbon included soil was removed revealing a flakey, rocky soil beneath. Excavation began in locus 15 with a baulk hammer. Locus 15 yielded some material but very little amounts. After the entirety of the soil containing material had been removed

from locus 15 , it was decided to close all four of the open loci: 13 , 14 , 15 , and 16 . Closing photographs and elevations were taken.

While excavation in locus 15 it became apparent that soil containing material extended to the west along the remainder of the slope. This remainder of the slope is declared locus 17 . Locus 17 is the same soil as locus 15 . Opening photographs, elevations, and coordinates were take for locus 17 .

The soil containing material in Locus 17 proved to be minimal and was quickly scraped back to what appears to be galestra. Locus 17 was closed. Closing photographs and elevations were taken.

The southern baulk on the 97 S meter mark was trimmed. It was decided to create a cut to expose the vertical extent of the carbon feature from last year (see AJC/ARR I pg. 135) . Locus 3 was therefore closed. Closing elevations were taken.

A cut is being made starting from the 96 S meter mark and proceeding towards the north sectioning into the carbon feature. The cut was taken to the floor of the trench starting at the 96 S mark. The cut was dropped approx. 45 cm below the surface of the old locus 3, it is approx. 10 cm above the floor of the trench. It was advanced approx. 80 cm south of the 96 m mark. Pieces of pottery is coming from near the 154 E meter mark.

Bulk finds:

Locus 13-

Pottery - 10 pieces

Locus 15-

Pottery- 3 pieces

Locus 16

Pottery- 3 pieces

Exploratory cut

Terracotta- 4 pieces

Pottery- 7 pieces
