Began troweling the dirt to the south of the rock feature, bringing the soil down to the level of the rest of the trench, about 2-4cm. Soil cleaned and sorted, roots clipped. Troweling towards the north into rock feature and will remove rocks and pile them to the west of the trench 1m as removed. Soil consistent with Locus 2, medium brown and claylike, some few small carbon inclusions. More rocks appearing at trench level 4-6cm. Material in dirt sparingly. Cleaning done to the west of the rock feature moving up to the stones but not removing any. Also cleaned to the east toward stone packing but not removing rocks, dirt sorted and cleaned. Moving north and removing stones discovered Special Find 1—Chert flake.

In troweling back feature and removing rocks two pieces of coil made pottery with ancient breaks which connect. Both made special finds and elevations and coordinates taken.

Work continued, moving northward sorting dirt and removing stones. Soil consistent with Locus 2. Carbon flecks inclusions continue. Some rocks 4-6cm appearing at trench level as soil is cleared, but they are being left in place. Stone packing area half excavated and covered with tarp for evening. Soil south of rock feature scraped because had been packed down while wet this AM.
