Pick pass begun in the eastern most meter of the trench. Dirt sorted and cleared, soil consistent with Locus 2 . Second pick pass begun in the southern most meter. Some small rocks coming up, 4-6cm, but seem unassociated. Soil consistent with Locus 2 . Dirt sorted and cleaned. Pick pass done in last western meter, avoiding stumps and rock formation. Soil consistent with Locus 2 , with mottling especially around tree roots. Many rocks in this area, 6-9cm, possibly bioturbated by the roots. Dirt sorted and cleaned. A few small flecks of carbon found. Pick pass done north of the stone packing, as well as in two sections east of the packing to even out trench level. Dirt sorted and cleaned. Area south of rock feature picked to level, dirt sorted and cleared. Roots clipped over whole trench. Rock formation brushed in preparation for photographs. More evening of trench and some minor baulk walling to tidy up.
