Work continued on the lowest layer of section B. After more earth had been removed, a dense layer of stones was encountered. Among the stones are some pieces of terracotta and a dense grayish soil, perhaps some sort of packing.

- Three pieces of a large plate. The rim of the plate has a large bean finial. On the lower edge of one of the sherds (and thus the interior body of the plate) is an impressed tongue design

AFter section B was cleaned down to the stone packing of what may possibly be a wall, excavation was begun on section A, working east to west. First a 15 cm strip was begun cutting down vertically from top to bottom. This method of excavation was adopted in order that, when excavation is ended tomorrow, the trench be left with a clean profile, one that will be able to withstand winter erosion.
