Condition Joined from nine fragments, broken on all sides. Surface worn and slightly chipped, preserving the original glaze and banded decoration overall.
Description A body fragment of a "Laconian" cup, preserving a section from the shoulder of the bowl, convex in profile and sharply incurved above. The horizontal upper break marks the convergence of bowl and lip. The interior is covered with a brownish black gloss; The exterior preserves the point of one black ray at the bottom, in the middle a heavy red band flanked by two thinner parallel black bands below and one above, all on a cream ground; the shoulder is coated with a solid band of black.
