Metal Analysis
Twenty-nine fragments of metal were recovered from T-87 during the 2016 excavation season. Loci 3 and 6 , which are equivalent, contained the most metal, at ten and fifteen fragments respectively.
Twenty-six of the fragments were bronze, two were iron, and one was a silver alloy ( 20160009

Many fragments of iron slag were found in T-87, but few pieces of finished iron were recovered. Contrastingly, most of the finished metal pieces were bronze, especially fibulae fragments, but no bronze slag fragments were found. Slag is further discussed in the slag summary and analysis.
