Bone Analysis:
Thirty fragments of bone were found in T-87 during the 2016 excavation season. Loci 3 and 6 , which are equivalent, contained the most bone, at fourteen and fifteen fragments respectively. Of the total fragments none were diagnostic fragments. Three fragments were shell, one of which was fossilized. Two fragments from Locus 3 were burned, which, combined with the quantities of slag and vitrified terra cotta recovered in both Locus 3 and Locus 6 , may provide further evidence regarding exposure to high temperatures in the immediate vicinity. The noticeable dearth of bone in T-87 may possibly provide information about a lack of consumption or production of animal byproducts in the area of Tesoro which abuts Civitate A.
