18 July 1968
Twenty-five boxes of tile were dumped today. Ninety-five tile pieces were excavated. Excavation is difficult due to the high density of stones tightly-packed around the material. Some breakage has occured. Forty-five pieces of frieze were excavated. Two fine pieces were excavated during the day: The first, a gorgon, well-preserved, and attached to a long section of cover-tile, Grid L2 Strata (C). The second, a male head (type: "Oliver," name: Orlando) of large size and in a crumbly state of preservation in Grid N6 Strata (C).
