A.M.
The thin flat "bone" proved to be earth. It is difficult to differentiate between earth and bone at first glance without proper lighting. Today electric lights were installed and this should solve the problem.
Photographed the femur bone (before removal of interior dirt).
Continued excavating long bones from earth.
Completed excavation of this bone. Upon removal of interior earth, the bone broke into many small pieces - longitudinal in shape. Labeled this bone #1 on the tomb diagram ( EN III 1972 ).
Excavated upper part of a long bone shaft (femur?) and photographed it before removal of interior earth.
P.M.
Photographed very fragmentary thin bones (pelvis?) in earth.
These bones also were placed on top of a rock. Note: earth is underneath both rocks and the roots were found underneath the rock. The remains ar very poorly preserved -- sciatic noted.
A second piece (another sciatic notch) was uncovered. The dirt is very hard and dry and infiltrated by rootlets.
