Pottery Analysis:

In total there were 951 fragments of pottery recovered from T-87 during the 2016 excavation season. Loci 3 and 6 , which are equivalent, contained the most pottery, at 393 and 408 sherds respectively. Of the total fragments, one was cataloged, a decorated impasto handle fragment ( 20160064

20160064
). Apart from a possible loom weight fragment, no weaving implements were recovered from T-87.

The most prevalent fabric type recovered was impasto, which composed 50-75% of each loci's total pottery. Many fragments of coarseware, impasto, and fine impasto were found this season, indicating ancient usage of the site. No bucchero was uncovered in T-87 this season. Several fragments of Medieval pottery were recovered, indicating limited Medieval activity in the area.
