CA-35
A new trench was set up eight meters west of CA-33. The grid system is based on that of CA-33. Greek letters will be used - see plan below.
Top soil was removed from meters gamma/16-19 and delta-epsilon/18. Top soil was a wet brown soil with pockets of bright yellow clay. Rocks and roots were present throughout. Small pieces of worn terracotta were found, including a recognizable flange fragment from a pan tile. A lip fragment from a coarseware pot was also found. Some tile fragments appear to have been burned black on one side.
PM
Topsoil was removed from gamma-delta/16-17. Rocks. Roots. Some worn terracotta. A second cut to c. 20 cm was completed in meters delta-epsilon/16-17. No soil change was encountered - minimal tile and pottery was found.
