Took Photograps
Began the day by taking elevations of the extension.
The extension of the trench is two meters to the east of Locus 8 . Beginning to clear the baulks of the western 3 meters of the trench to repair damage done to them by the rain on friday. Commenced a pick pass across the extension. We are still in the same soil and are pulling up a great deal of terracotta. We are also continuing to clean the baulks. Commenced another pick pass. WE are still pulling up large amounts of terracotta and pottery. It appears that Locus 9 contains the same soil and material as Locus 4 . We will now continue to excavate in the hopes that we may uncover an extension of the feature found in VT-2. A rock has been uncovered in the north baulk wall in a position which may be an extension of the feature in VT-2. We will now begin a
light pick pass to see if there are other rocks. While digging an unusual piece of terracotta was uncovered (Find #1).
PM
COntinuing to pick dpwn the extension loking for an extension of the feature in VT-2 and the tile spread we are expecting to extend into the area. Also continuing work on the baulks. It seems that we have uncovered the beginning of a tile spread in the western most meter of the east extension. We are beginning to lay out a new extension to the north of the 4th east in the trench. The hope is that since the east extension failed to uncover the feature see in VT-2 this extension to the north will help us better understand the feature.
