AM
Took pictures of rocks in Locus 6. We decided to only excavate loosely around the rocks, leaving them in situ.
Locus 6: Pottery: 1 piece; Terracotta: 2 latte boxes.
To find the extent of the rock "wall", we are extending to the north.
From clearing surface of new area: terracotta: 4 pieces; pottery: 0
Opening Locus 7 271-273S, 270-272E
Below datum opening:

E272/S271...35cm b.d.
E270/S271...37cm b.d.
E270/S273...42cm b.d.
E270/S272...34cm b.d.
E272/S272...35cm b.d.
Since we are concerned with the following "wall", only the south half of hte new area will be opened as Locus 7. Locus 7 is a layer of dense roots/topsoil which will eventuall be confounded with Locus 1. The soil is dark brown.
Locus 7: 7/8 latte box of terracotta; 9 pieces (small) pottery
No particularly interesting finds came up in Locus 7, which was closed approximately 10cm deep. No large rocks were found, but we are not yet down to the top of the rocks in Locus 6.
