There has been no excavating for 3 days due to the midsession break. This morning will be dedicated to bringing the middle trench down to the level of the other 2.
Closed Locus 5 on top of large rocks.
Locus 5: Terracotta: 1/3 cassette; Pottery: 4 pieces
There were a number of quite large (>20cm) rocks on top of and mixed with terracotta. The size of the rocks may suggest they did not move from very far. There were a few large pan tile fragments, one was about 1/4 of a complete pan tile. Based on the size of the spread and mix of rocks and terracotta, the spread looks like washout.

Started to bring Locus 6 down to previous trench and found a large spread of large rocks, extending from the NW to SE. Decided to clean off rocks and take pictures tomorrow.
Locus 6: Terracotta: 1 3/4 latte boxes; Pottery: 1/6 latte box.
