Daily Log

June 16, 1997

A.M.

The day began by taking a 10 cm cut through the last two westernmost meters, N1-6,W15-16. A lens of ash mixed with the brown clayish soil from locus 1 was approximately 40 cm in diameter. Because is was found in the top soil layer (locus 1) it most likely is a result of previous human activity within the last century, hence it will not be assigned as new locus number. Measurements for the topographical/contour map were taken in N1-6,W11. Measurements will resume tomorrow.

The feature located in the south west corner of CA42 (the possible road) was exposed. It will be assigned a new locus number as soon as it's boundaries are defined.

A piece of worked chert was found, as well as one pottery fragment and about 46 tile fragments, 1-6 cm in size.
