An addition of two men made for a greater working area.  Two new cuts were started.

Cut 5- Grids DE-56 were started.  A facing was left for the western wall. Stratum A stones were quickly taken down.  Stratum AB is virtually nonexistent.  Stratum B is well defined by a particularly heavy concentration of rotted brush which makes it soft and black. In grid E6 just below the "pavement" of brush a bronze fragment was found.  Another was found in E5 in stratum B.  About 10 tile fragments.

Cut 6- Grids A (BC)-12 were begun.  BC-12 will be done first to test for a wall structure in grids AB.  A dike will be kept until the complete grid C East-West profile is taken.

Stratum A was taken down and Stratum B reached through the small space disallows a clear view of the strata.  A box labelled strip B was collected of sherds found 0.40-0.50 m below the surface in a soil of high carbon content. Rich pockets of this soil are found demarking the stratum.  About 10 tile fragments.

Cut 4

Stratum B was followed.  It is difficult to define except in profile. In this area the soil of strata AB and C is the

same and "C" serves primarily as a distinction between that soil lying under B.  In stratum B at H5 a rochetto was recovered as well as sherds and another rochetto.
