Daily Log

July 15, 1971

Trench Photos were taken.  The dike between cuts 2 and 3 was removed.

Cut 3

A strip was taken through the burnt layer into Stratum C and thereby disclosing the "east" edge of the "wall".  Little pottery was uncovered.  Work stopped for the day with a 0.05 m cut into the yellow earth of C bringing 3 to a total depth of 0.55 m.

Cut 4

Stratum AB: Continued to "pavement" of B and followed.  The pavement was lost at 0.60 m and after which it blends into the mixed soil of the southern grids (HI).  Very scrappy pottery.  One painted sherd.
