Cut 5
Stratum B- Continued strip into Stratum B, which increases in thickness towards the east (grids DE6). One painted neck fragment was found, grid D6, Stratum B. One half-box of tiles was recovered.
Cut 6
Extended into grids AB 12 where a wall or remnants of one are expected. This area was excavated to a "no find area" consisting of sterile yellow brown flaked soil and left until the trench strata became more apparent. Grids BC 12 were taken down to an area of finely burnt black soil which was covered by yellow permeable soil with some carbon. A hump of red burnt very dry earth was left in B1. It lies above the black soil mentioned above. Apparently this area is Stratum D. About 15 tile fragments.

Cut 4
Stratum C- The top of Stratum D was traced. Numerous finds continued to come from Straum C which sunks as it goes into the Southern edges of the trench. 1 box of tiles and a box of pottery were recovered. Most of the pottery was discarded but a number of rims and feet and good belly fragments of many fabrics and sizes were collected. In H5 just above Stratum D a bronze ring with 2 knobs was excavated.
