Work continued in Locus 7 . Hand picks used to level Locus 7 down towards the elevation of Locus 5 . Soil remains consistent with Locus 7 , a dense, claylike medium brown-grey soil. Roots present as well as small stones 5-10cm in length. Small concentrations of terra cotta and pottery found. One bucket sieved, no artifacts recovered. New soil type is beginning to be revealed along the northern meter. Hand picks and trowels used to trace back from where it has been uncovered to explore its extent. Another bucket sieved, a fragment of pottery 1-2cm in length recovered. Baulk walling done in preparation for pictures and the declaration of Locus 8 . Roots clipped. Stump in the northeastern section removed. Wood debris and dirt from beneath it sorted and cleaned from the trench.

Locus 8 is a dense, claylike , light brown-yellowish soil. One large root is present in the northeastern sector and several small rocks 5-15cm in length present in the eastern meter but especially in the southern meter.
Terra cotta, pottery, and bone recovered. One bucket sieved, no artifacts found. Locus 8 leveled down to approximately 10-15cm above the elevation of Locus 5 . Some small rocks have been included in the soil with no association to one another, removed with the soil. One bucket sieved, a 1cm fragment of pottery recovered. Beginning in the northwest corner, Locus 8 soil being leveled down to the same elevation of Locus 5 . Pottery and terra cotta continue to be found. One diagnostic rib fragment recovered.
